B MAX ELISA kit: the innovation in food allergens quantitative analysis

This means that the whole kit content can be used to run real samples with no wastes for calibrators. B MAX is the only master-curve calibrated ELISA kits line commercially available for allergens.

In an era where there is great abundance of information in every field, it is unlikely that the average consumer will spend much time considering what stays behind food allergens labeling. On the other hand, food companies have a thorough knowledge of such issue: being legally responsible of what is stated on a food product label costs, costs a lot. For this reason Tecna developed, dedicated to the whole food industry actors, a new series of analytical kits that allow law compliance with ease, reliable results and with reduced costs.

Therefore, Tecna is proud to announce the availability of two new ELISA kits for the analysis of food allergens: B MAX beta-lactoglobulin (AL836) and B MAX Egg (AL840), respectively for the analysis of beta lactoglobulin and egg-white proteins in food.

The key feature of these two novel kits, the first of a brand new product line dedicated to food allergens analysis, is the calibration. Adopting the B ZERO technology, previously introduced on mycotoxins and veterinary drug residues kits, Tecna extended the single-calibrated ELISA kit concept to food allergens analysis as well. The reliability of this kind of kits can be compared to traditional ELISA's because the calibration curve is not absent, it is provided into a virtual format within the test. During the assay the absorbance ratio between the samples and the single standard is interpolated into the lot-specific calibration curve in order to get a truly quantitative result.
